School essay under the conditions of information society

The article deals with the problem of teaching the high school students to write their essays considering the contemporary challenges. Assessment criteria in school do not coordinate with these challenges and must be revised. As a model the graduation essay has to consider those media texts that include facts description and analysis alongside with representation of the author’s opinion.
