В статье анализируется отношение политического общества Соединенного Королевства в первой половине XVIII в. к возможной роли армии, расквартированной в Шотландии (в Горной Шотландии, прежде всего) в 1715 - 1745 гг., в политических процессах на Британских островах в этот период.
