In the article, the authors present a method of constrained bending of sheet parts with curvilinear sides by the elastic media. They describe the process of constrained bending and the equipment used in the experiment, present a schematic description of the process. The part is manufactured in two transitions. After the first transition, a part with thinning in the radius and high side springing is obtained. The second transition is carried out on the form block of reduced height, and the resulting wave of excess material is deformed along the radius of the bending mandrel. In the finished part, there has been work piece thickness increase in the bending radius zone and a decrease in the side springing. The side thickness was measured, and graphical dependences of the change in the material thickness of the part in the radius zone from the side excess were obtained. Finite element modeling of the process of constrained bending is under the work according to the proposed method.
