Siberian factor in the formation of the Russian industrial civilization

In the article on the example of Siberia the problems of formation of the Russian industrial civilization are considered. Attention is focused on the events of the XXth century, which in the region in the framework of the strategy of industrialization had led to active industrial, transport and energy construction, created the mineral resource base of the state. It is emphasized that as a result of the Soviet variant of modernization of the economy in Siberia was formed a substantial part of technical and technological capacities of the USSR. The author noted that Siberian oil and gas, coal and metals contributed not only a significant contribution to the strengthening and growth of the economy, but also helped its safe and survive in difficult times for the state. Conclusion is that Siberia in the last century played the role of a large-scale resource of the region, made a significant contribution to the geopolitical positioning of the Russian state and its civilization development.
