The paper is devoted to the Siberian period of life and work of Vladimir Gennadievich Kartsov, candidate of pedagogical sciences, professor, methodologist, author of numerous works on history, archeology and methods of teaching history. In conducting the study, the authors relied on the principles of historicism, systematicity and objectivity, as well as historical-genetic and historical-systemic methods. V.G. Kartsov was born in 1904. In 1925 he entered the historical and philosophical faculty of Moscow State University. In 1928-1934 he headed the archaeological department of the Yenisei Territory Museum, lectured on ethnography at the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical Institute. During this time, he conducted numerous excavations on the banks of the Yenisei River and in the vicinity of Krasnoyarsk, identified several types of archaeological cultures. After returning to Moscow, V.G. Kartsov worked at the State Historical Museum and was a research fellow at the Moscow Institute for Advanced Studies of History Teachers. From 1941 to 1943, Vladimir Gennadievich headed the Kazachinsk Secondary School in the Krasnoyarsk Region, defended his candidate's dissertation in 1946, and two years later received the title of associate professor. From 1946 to 1957, he was the head of the Department of History of the USSR at the Tula State Pedagogical Institute, and in 1957-1961, V.G. Kartsov held the position of associate professor at the Department of History at the Abakan State Pedagogical Institute, provided methodological support for the work of the Department of History, the Institute for Advanced Teacher Training, supervised the archaeological and pedagogical practice of students, and was active in scientific, methodological, and social activities. From 1961 to 1977, he headed the Department of History of the USSR at the Kalinin Pedagogical University. For his contribution to the development of education, many years of work in the field of education Vladimir Gennadievich was awarded the "Excellent Teacher of Public Education" badge, the honorary title "Honored Teacher of the RSFSR", the medal "For Valorous Work" and the Order of Lenin.
