Simulacrum as a virtual reality phenomenon in socio-philosophical discourse

The article analyzes the "simulacrum" as a socio-philosophical phenomenon of modern society. The concept itself, its essential content and the main approaches to its study are examined. The aim of the study is to broaden the understanding of the term "simulacrum" and to contribute to its conceptual content. Special attention is paid to the leading scientists who were engaged in the development of this area of scientific knowledge. The existence of a relationship between the simulacrum and virtual reality is established. It is noted that the phenomenon under study is one of the fundamental elements that forms the basis of the existence of virtual reality. The article analyzes the current manifestation of the simulacrum, historical views on the socio-philosophical aspect of this phenomenon and the prospects for studying the direction of scientific knowledge under consideration. The point is that the possibility of simulacrizing reality in the context of modern digital revolution should not be underestimated. The need to control the position of virtual reality in relation to objective reality to exclude critical errors affecting the development of civilization is highlighted.
