Symbolic meanings of the component - color-coding as part of the phraseology of English and Russian languages

The article describes the influence of color on the mental and emotional state of a person when using certain lexical units. Examples are given of the transfer of symbolic meaning through color designation in phraseological units in Russian and English. The significance of phraseological units for conveying the emotional color of the surrounding reality and the transfer of national color is revealed.
