The symbolic world of a geometrical ornament in archaic arts and crafts space

The article analyzes the world of signs and symbols used in creation of a geometrical ornament in the archaic arts and crafts. The research conception is defined by understanding of the arts and crafts language as a sign (symbolical) system, where anthropomorphous, zoomorphic, plant and geometrical symbolism is functioning. It is shown that among images of archaic arts and crafts the geometrical symbolism comes to the forefront, determining the process of symbolic meaning designing. It is proved that the geometrical ornament in archaic arts and crafts is used as a symbol of recurrence of life, fertility and beauty.
