The presented study examines the etymological features of a number of anatomical terms, the source of which was the names of everyday objects of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. The sources of motivating principles for the nomination of the lexical units under consideration are classified according to their belonging to a narrow household field of application: «tools», «clothing, sewing supplies», «tableware». The following anatomical terms are subjected to a detailed etymological analysis: clavicula (clavicle), fibula (fibular bone), bursa (bursa), vomer (vomer), fascia (fascia), acetabulum (вертлужная впадина), pallium (cerebral cortex).
