The article deals with the dialectal lexical and phraseological facts of the wedding ritual, created on the basis of the names of clothes, shoes and headwear (a shirt, a pinafore, bast shoes, boots, a cap etc.) and their parts ( a bosom, a hemline ). These names are characterized by their ability to form a symbolic sense whose usage is typical of the wedding ritual language. This specificity determines the high productivity of the clothes code which relates to the marking of different stages and participants of the wedding ritual, and to the description of some peculiar components of the wedding ritual. In some cases the interpretation of linguistic units is possible due to the researching the data of the folklore and ritual.
