In the article lyrical texts of the Buryat dream poetry is studied. We have revealed imagery of dreams in D. Ulzytueva’s, B. Syrenova’s, G. Radnaeva’s, L. Tapkhaeva’s poems, and the symbolic significance of various elements in the context of mythopoetic consciousness. The dialectical interrelation of the metaphor of dream as a death and the Buddhist conception of dream as a life is determined. The images of borderline between dream and reality, between reality and the ideal world, as well as the images of mythological opposition are defined. In the article various artistic forms of dream presentation in poetic texts have been disclosed in connection with expression of reflection and philosophical understanding of life by the authors. Dream in lyrics of the Buryat authors is presented as an insight of secret, depth beginnings of life, as a message with a special kind of informativity. The originality of linguistic worldimage manifests particularly at the lexical level, in use of words denoting various spirits (lusud, sabdag), in appeal of poets to the symbols of traditional culture.
