Syndicated lending in the Russian Federation: markets and institutions

Syndicated loan is an effective way to attract funds by many companies in the international and Russian financial markets. This paper discusses the concepts, types and subjects of syndicated loans. The analysis of the current state and dynamics of the development of syndicated loans is presented. The author identified promising areas for the development of syndicated lending in the Russian Federation and analyzed international experience as a guideline for this process. She also identified the main problems faced by participants in organizing syndicated lending regarding the legal framework, the development of risk management, the skill level of employees of Russian banks, etc., and also presented suggestions for their solving.
