Polycystic ovary syndrome is one of the urgent problems of modern gynecology and endocrinology. According to statistics, every 15 women suffer from this disease, and this number is growing over the years. At the same time, against the background of reproductive abnormalities - menstrual cycle disorders, anovulation, infertility - other body systems also suffer. Women with polycystic ovary syndrome are prone to developing metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases. In the therapy of the syndrome, there are a number of difficulties associated with both the correct and timely diagnosis and the lack of a universal treatment regimen. Therapy of polycystic ovary syndrome requires an individual approach to patients, taking into account the peculiarities of their lifestyle, eating behavior, and the presence of metabolic abnormalities.
