Syndrome of postoperative cognitive dysfunction in patients after cardiac surgery: pathogenetic and clinical aspects

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death all over the world. Surgical treatment of coronary heart disease are actively used in modern medicine. One of the problems of such operations remains the high frequency of postoperative cognitive impairment. Understanding the causes of their occurrence, identifying predictors of the development of cognitive impairment is an important task of cardioneurology. The authors analyzed the data available in the modern literature concerning the characteristics of postoperative cognitive dysfunction in patients after cardiac surgery.
