This article introduces the XVI century handwriting (the Prologue) into the scientific use. So, the prologue is a collection of brief Lives, teachings, edifying stories and episodes put in the calendar order. And it is the first study of its syntactical organization. Micro texts forming the Prologue macro text are divided into narrative and didactic. For example, hagiographic narrative texts as the type of speech - narration - make about twothirds of the total number of micro texts. Edifying texts are heterogeneous; they can be persuasive, rhetorical and mixed. Different types of discourse led to a variety of syntactical construction of micro texts. Moreover, narrative ones agree with a strict model, they contain persistent verbal formulas of beginning and end. They include chains of active action verbs; participle constructions of deliberative and modal verbs; turn «dative independent case» («datel'nyj samostojatel'nyj»); stringing design constructions - relevant phenomena for syntactical narrations. The basis of narrative micro texts coherence is chronological. And instructive texts can be placed in arbitrary order, which is typical for enfilade type collections. Consequently, the structure of edifying texts is much more diverse than that of narrative ones. Persuasive micro texts present narration persuasion which is common for ancient Russian manuscripts. Directive nature of similar micro texts implies timelessness, transcendence of statements and is expressed primarily by various forms of the verb imperative which are not estimated from the viewpoint of speech moment. To the semantics of explication conditionality of micro texts contribute edifying discourse, the predominance of arguments, the truth statements, intention indication. So, rhetorical parts of the Prologue can be organized in the question-answer unity form, or detailed antithesis, contain rhetorical questions, exclamations, appeals, addresses in different ways of comparison, rhetorical repetitions (including anaphora), various elements of the style «network of words» («pletenie sloves») Syntax of edifying micro texts especially that of rhetorical ones is complex, with predominance of polypredicative constructions with causal clause, consequence clause, object clause, condition clause.
