The article is devoted to the research of peculiarities of J. Brodsky's poetics. It reviews the syntactic means with the help of which the semantics of indefensibility, being a specific feature of Brodsky's idiostyle, is formed in a poetic text. Subjectless sentences (impersonal, nominative, etc.), verbs without actional meaning are devoted, in particularly, to the means which express the subjective-modal concept.
Impersonal sentences, nominative sentence, subjectless sentences, indefensibility, indefinite personal sentences, parenthesis, ecphrasis
