Condensation of equimolar quantity of 2,4-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)pyrimidines and 3-(benzoyl)benzylbromides led to 1-(3-benzoylbenzyl)uracils, bearing various substituents at 5 position of uracil heterocycle. The yield of target compounds amounted to 56-69 %. These compounds are potential anti-HIV-1 agents.
