Synthesis of acyclic polyamides by the Mumma-Hessa mechanism

Aromatic acyclic polyimides were got by the heat treatment of polycarboxyimidates by the Mumma-Hesse rearrangement mechanism. Polycarboxyimidates were received by interaction of dinitriles and dicarboxilic acids at 170°C during 24 h. Polymers are soluble in dimethylsulfoxide, concentrated sulphuric and formic acids but aromatic-alifatic polymer are soluble in amide solvens under heating.
