Synthesis and study of the properties of 2-[(4-amino-2,5-dimethylphenyl) diazenyl] benzoic acid

In the course of the work, 2-[(4-amino-2,5-dimethylphenyl) diazenyl] benzoic acid was synthesized as a solid substance of dark red color. The yield of the product was determined, its solubility in various media was qualitatively assessed. The DTA method established that the main stage of thermal destruction of the substance occurs at a temperature of 192 to 202 °C. In the theoretical part of the study, quantum-chemical calculation of the molecule and screening of the spectrum of biological action in the PASS Online system were performed. IR-Fourier and Uv-Vis spectroscopy data were obtained for the synthesized azo dye.
