The reaction of potassium hexachloroplatinate with [(C2H5)4N]Cl in acetone synthesized the platinum complex[(C2H5)4N]2[PtCl6], the structure of which was established by X-ray analysis. Cation tetrahedral configuration is distorted: CNC valence angles are 91,4(2)° and 162,2(16)°, N-C bond lengths do not differ from each other (N-C 1,44(2) Å). Trans-angles ClPtCl (Cl(1)PtCl(11) 180,0°, Cl(21)PtCl(2) 180,0°, Cl(22)PtCl(23) 179.999(3)°.
