Synthesis of cation-containing bismuth titanates and their photocatalytic properties

Nanodispersed powders of cation-containing bismuth titanates solid solutions were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The phase composition of the samples was determined by XRD. The morphology of the surface was studied by SEM. The photocatalytic activity of the compounds was evaluated by decomposition of organic dye rhodamine B solution under visible light irradiation. It is shown that synthesized cation-containing bismuth titanates possess photoactivity under the influence of visible light.
