BIM-based bridge maintenance system (BMS) for defect data management

Bridges can experience many defects during operation, such as cracks in the pavement and corrosion of reinforcement, which easily create a cumulative effect that threatens the safety of bridges in Russia. Thus, there is a need for regular inspection and maintenance of bridges. This article introduces a bridge maintenance system (BMS) based on foreign experience building information modeling (BIM), which is used to manage bridge defect information using a digitization method.
