The article considers the problem of reforming practical law enforcement activities and the corresponding system of personnel training. Principal attention is given to the organization of extra-curricular work in higher schools of the Ministry of InternalAffairs. The author justifies the necessity of radical reconsideration of the established system of organization and assessment of extra-curricular activities which should be guided by the contemporary requirements to the process of higher education.
