This article aimed at the selection of the Russian Federation subjects’ sustainability and well-being assessment model indicators, taking into account the features of the TOPSIS methodology calculation algorithm. By the information sources’ content analysis on the issue under study, it was found that it makes sense to form evaluation categories mainly based on the logic used in the collections of Rosstat, but with a number of improvements. The final evaluation model contains 61 indicators within 23 evaluation categories. Considerations on the options for using the evaluation model for analytical purposes are presented. It is assumed that the modified and tested model could be used to assess interregional differentiation at the level of districts and country, as well as to assess its dynamics, for example, by calculating the variances of the final indicators of regional sustainability obtained over different years.
