System of principles of criminal proceedings in the Russian Federation: is improvement required?

The author considers the process of forming a system of principles in domestic criminal proceedings. A comparative analysis of the provisions of Chapter 2 of the draft of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation at the first reading and Chapter 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, as well as the regulations of criminal procedure legislation of foreign countries is conducted. The provisions formalizing the system of principles of the criminal process are considered. The conclusion about the imperfection of the system of principles of the criminal process and the necessity of its further improvement is substantiated.
