This article discusses improving the quality of electricity and ensuring the normal operation of industrial power supply systems during voltage supply instability and load current fluctuations. To eliminate these problems, a new type of voltage regulator is proposed instead of mechanical voltage regulators. The quality of electricity and the efficiency of power supply systems in stationary and dynamic processes are presented. Integral characteristics for power supply systems with known and new voltage regulators are given. The study was conducted in the MATLAB environment on the model of a workshop transformer of with a capacity of 1000 kV•A and a voltage of 6/0.4 kV. The results of numerical experiments with the instability of the supply voltage and load current fluctuations confirm that the proposed voltage regulator has the ability to maintain a high quality of electricity and the efficiency of power supply systems, and to maintain their normal operation and extend the service life of the electrical equipment of power supply systems.
