Management system of the North Caucasus in the 1860s - early 20th century in Russian historiography

The article discusses the main problems of the political and administrative course of the Russian government in the North Caucasus in the period from the 1860s to 1917 in the light of national historiography. The author focuses on identifying and analyzing the prerequisites, causes and factors that have had a significant impact on fluctuations in the government's course in the region. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the processes and mechanisms of interaction between central and local government bodies, their role in solving social, economic and political problems of the region in the late 19th - early 20th centuries (until 1917).
