System analysis of iron oxide reduction in water gas atmosphere in the presence of carbon

Parameters of equilibria realizing in iron oxide reduction in water gas atmosphere (СО-СО 2-Н 2-Н 2О) in the presence of carbon are calculated. For graphical interpretation of results a space diagram is first constructed, which is a combination of three-phase equilibria surfaces and four-phase equilibria lines, whose point of intersection determines the parameters of nonvariant five-phase equilibrium. Water gas compositions in equilibrium with Fе 3O 4-С, Fе 3O 4-FеO-С, FeO-С, FeO-Fe-С, Fe-С and Fe 3O 4-FeO-Fe-C mixtures are defined. A graphical method to find the possible water gas compositions in equilibrium with these mixtures is proposed.
