Systemic functional approach to diagnosis and treatment of virus-associated cervical lesions

Histological specimens from 232 women with various benign and precancerous cervical lesions showed 121 (52,3 %) virusassociated changes of the cervix (herpes simplex virus, human papillomavirus, and mixed infections). In addition, there was diagnosed immunological deficiency of various stages. To treat immunological disorders and cervical lesions, inosine pranobex was used. Immunological disorders were eliminated in 90,1 % of cases. Complete response to therapy for virus-associated changes of the cervix was achieved in 97,2 % of cases with herpes simplex virus, in 83,8 % of cases with human papillomavirus and in 78,2% of cases with mixed infections.
