The SWOT analysis of medical care consumption in Rostov-on-Don

The aim of this article is to identify the strengths, weaknesses, risks and threats in Rostov-on-Don medical care system. The author reviews a wide range of sources, among which there is empirical data of the sociological survey conducted in Rostov-on-Don in AprilJune of 2014. It is shown that currently there are significant economic and organizational barriers to medical care access in Rostov-on-Don. At the same time, the author comes to the conclusion that in order to improve the citizens’ health, there is a need for development of population medical culture and to create the conditions for healthy lifestyle.
