Situational aspects of the construction of ethno-national stories: the case of changing (canceling) the paradigms of the official versions of the past of Tatarstan

The article considers ethno-national stories as contemporary social myths. The author shows a situational characteristic of the mythical understanding of the past and present, which determines the regular abolition of the main ideologies. He proposes the concept of collective intellectual property, in which individual opinion depends on many non-scientific, primarily political factors, which, in turn, affects the logic of scientific research, and especially its conclusions. The comparative case of official views on key events and processes of the history of Tatarstan illustrates the theoretical provisions in 2008 and 2022. The author investigates changes in the estimates of the so-called colonial approach, the capture of Kazan by the troops of Ivan IV, the myth of the Great Tataria, etc. The paper reveals modern political trends that influenced the abolition of interpretations of the past of Tatarstan.
