The authors investigated the population of Black-and-White Holsteinized cattle on the presence of BLAD-syndrome, identified the gene determined the BLAD-syndrome and defined its frequency. The genealogy of different bulls-sires with gene mutation and the productivity of their daughters was determined. The causes of spreading of the BLAD-syndrome gene were considered. It was shown, that intensive breeding on milk productivity and maximum use of limited number of the bulls-sires gradually lead to accumulation of undesirable recessive genes in populations of Black-and-White Holsteinized cattle. It was noted, that timely revelation of carrier of gene CD18 mutation permit to avoid coupling of two heterozygous animals; at the their high prepotency the breeding must be under the special genetic control.
