Investigator as direct owner of special knowledge

The article considers independent use by the investigator of special knowledge as one of non-procedural forms of their use. Using special knowledge by the investigator without expert persons’ involvement is a debatable question in the forensic and the criminal procedure law. The author adduces some arguments in confirmation of existence of such phenomenon in practical law enforcement agencies activities.
