When considering the issue of the essence of an investigative experiment as a way of verifying and obtaining evidence, it should be noted such aspects as the concept of an investigative experiment and its nature. The application of this investigative action has such features as an experimental component. Information that allows you to establish information about the crime event that occurred, put forward versions and determine the directions of the investigation can be obtained by modeling the actions of the criminal, including on the basis of an experimental analysis of the consequences of his criminal actions. In particular, the experimental component may be associated with artificial reproduction of the conditions of causing harm, reproduction of the circumstances of causing death, etc. Within the framework of this article, an investigative experiment will be considered as a source of criminalistically significant information.
