The author of the article suggests that our interpretation of a piece of literature is based on that it interprets us in return. A reader’s melting frame of mind is noting but a performance of a tear-score of a text which demonstrates a sentimental version of Man and the World. Types of dialogue, difference of rant and quiet as sentimental lie and truth, characteristics of fictional reach and time of the story are considered. The author of the article puts intellectual debates of characters in brackets and focuses on the “tear-dropping” nature of Chekhov’s “House with the Mezzanine”.
