Mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector

This article analyzes mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector. We consider the "synergetic effect" and the classification of M&A transactions. The dynamics of the share of industries in the Russian market is illustrated, as well as a separate consideration of the indicator "banking sector" over the past 5 years. A table has been compiled on the number of reorganization transactions (joins), according to the Central Bank data for the last 17 years (without 2019), and also considered what caused such indicators. Major mergers and acquisitions involving Russian banks in 2018 and 2019 are analyzed.
