Here in the article an attempt of contemplation of philological analysis of the language of «The Word on Palm Sunday» from The «Assumption Miscellanea» (XII-XIII Centuries) as a homiletic genre of Church-Slavonic literature is undertaken. Main attention of the investigators was attracted by the original works from the Miscellanea by ancient Russian and Southern Slavs. Their overriding importance for developing as the language of Ancient-Russian literature so it’s grammatical system is marked. Meanwhile the heritage of Church-Slavonic in the homiletic part of the Miscellanea in cluding the Words of St. John Chrysostom on Passion and Paschal weeks, Ascension of our Lord, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Holt Friday, so as The Reading of St. Andrej of Crete on Lazarus Saturday, The Word of St. Ethraim The Syrian containing The Story of Abraham and other translated church text are still investigated not enough. Translated literature influenced on developing of several original spiritual genres in Ancient Russia i.e. homilies, lives, sermons, akathists, church hymns etc. Together with translated Christian literature Russia imported methods and ways of Byzantium rhetoric, means of arts and imaging system, methods of describing inner state of Christian ascetics. Miscellanea of sermons of Bishops of Russian Orthodox Church were spread among a large number of readers forming spiritual and linguistic culture of Russian society. During the 2 nd part of XX Century a need to turn to invaluable heritage of Church-Slavonic literature in orthodox homiletics rose again. Linguistic part of this heritage is still not investigated enough. Description of the system of art-expression methods of homilies translated from Byzantium texts being conversed by Slavonic interpreters and included to Church-Slavonic texts of sermons, akathists, prologues, torzhestvenniks etc. is actual due to grow of attention to the history of Church-Slavonic and its’ use. Special interest is paid to discource approach to analysis of features of language of homilies of Fathers of Orthodox Church whose works became a source of forming traditions of Church-Slavonic literature. From this point of view the turn to Words of St. John Chrysostom included in the Assumption Miscellanea of XII-XIII Centuries can become a starting point in studying of historic and cultural role of this manuscript in development of Church-Slavonic literature.
