A word about the master of materialist dialectics

Based on the author’s recollections of meeting with a famous Russian scientist S. N. Mareev, the article presents an analysis of his works on the development of materialist dialectics, a systems approach, a comparative analysis of formal, or mechanical, systems, as well as organic systems. It is noted that the ability of S. N. Mareev to derive from the concrete labor process all the basic characteristics of the systems of which these processes are an element determines the special significance of his work for the development of the theory and practice of managerial activity.
