Word-formation potential of the key unit “fake” in the Russian language mediadiscourse

The article deals with revealing the wide variety of the word-formation components, modelling the new words and meanings with the integral component ‘fake’ in the topical media area. There is substantiated the role of the key unit “fake” and its derivatives in the Internet sphere. The peculiarities of the structure of the language unit “fake” in the topical mediatexts allow to reveal its derivational and metaphoric potential and the peculiarities of the implementation in the modern media area.
