The aim of research is to study the clinical manifestation of mastopathy in a newborn goat. Clinical studies were carried out on the basis of the Vita veterinary clinic of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University. The object of the study was a goat and a newborn goat of the Saanen breed. At the age of one day, a goat showed signs of mastopathy. In a clinical study, a significant increase in the volume of the mammary gland, hyperemia of the skin of the nipples and the area of their base were noted. No pain was noted on palpation. The local temperature was slightly increased; when milk was removed from the mammary gland, a milk-like secretion was observed. For therapeutic purposes, Pikhtoin ointment was used externally and iodine-active 50 tablets internally. Clinical observation of the state of the mammary gland in a newborn animal was carried out for twenty one days. An increase in the volume of the mammary gland was observed from the first day of life to the eighth day, a decrease in volume from the eighth day of life to the eighteenth day, and on the twenty-first day it was noted that the volume of the mammary gland decreased to the physiological norm. The consistency of the gland was firm up to twelve days of age, and at the age of eighteen days - a doughy consistency. The amount of milk-like secretion decreased from the first to the eighth days of life, and on the twelfth day from birth, no formation and excretion from the mammary gland was observed. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the signs of mastopathy in a newborn goat disappeared gradually. It was noted that on the twelfth day, the formation and secretion of the secret ceased. Hyperemia of the skin of the udder nipples was absent on the eighth day. After the therapy, by the twenty-first day of life in the newborn goat, the normal consistency of the mammary gland tissues was restored.
