The semantic structure of metaphor and the logic principles of its formation

The content of concepts of metonymy, metaphor and comparison are investigated. Well-known concepts of metaphor are logically falsified according to K.R. Popper on the basis of the theory of interpretative logic-semantic mappings. A logic principle of constructing the metaphoric sense is formulated. It allows one to tell between the metaphoric sense and the direct sense.
