Decrease in mechanic damage to barley when operating gravity flow devices

The article is devoted to the actual problem of increasing the efficiency of post-harvest processing of barley by reducing its mechanical damage when operating of transporting devices. It has been established that during the operation of gravity flow devices that are part of grain cleaning complexes, as a result of the high-speed movement of grain material through the grain pipe, an increase in the rate of mechanical damage occurs, reaching 15% depending on the number of passes. This is due to the fact that when moving grain at a low density of the grain flow, the number of impacts of grains against each other and against the walls of the gravity device increases, as well as against abrasive particles present in the grain flow, which increases the likelihood of damage to the grain. To reduce the speed of the grain flow, without reducing the performance of the gravity flow device, it is proposed to increase the density of the grain flow due to the portioned movement of bulk material...
