Collective numerals in the Russian literary language in the XVIII century

The problems of the evolution of the grammatical category of collective numerals at the initial forming stage of the Russian literary language (XVIII century) are reviewed in the article. The author aims at defining the position of collective counting words in a row of other numerical names of the epoch based on the analysis of the semantics and on genre and stylistic tendencies in their functioning.
