The article analyzes the famous architectural monument of the Western European Middle Ages-the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, which is an epochal historical and cultural phenomenon. The purpose of the article is to trace the features of the interpretation of the image of an architectural structure in the language of various arts, in the context of the semantic attitudes of the authors. On the one hand, belonging to the French regional school, the cathedral is considered exclusively in connection with interpretation in literature (V. Hugo’s novel), in ballet performances and cinematic works. On the other hand, the external architectonics of the cathedral building and its internal space become the starting point of research, regardless of the morphological classification of the arts. The interdisciplinary approach allows us to analyze the described phenomena related to the Cathedral at the junction, from the perspective of its vision by different masters of both separate and simultaneous artistic and sensory perception as a whole. It is concluded that the study of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris, due to the involvement of the author’s vision of V. Hugo in the historical novel as the primary source, and then interpreted in theatrical and cinematic productions, allows us to present and evaluate its architecture from new angles, touch the eternal and imperishable world of antiquity, naturally associated with the plot and images of the heroes of the works considered.
