Land ownership in Russia: legal regulation in the IX-XVII centuries

A brief historical overview of the process of legal consolidation of land ownership in the period from Ancient Rus' to the Moscow State is presented. Scientific works that covered this topic and relevant legal acts are analyzed. It is noted that communal ownership of land prevailed for quite a long time, then patrimonial and local forms of land ownership began to form. And only in the 17th century. the right to freely dispose of land plots was formed and legally secured.
