Event tourism as a factor of increasing the competitiveness of the city

The article presents an analysis of the main trends and patterns of development of event tourism in the city, the assessment of its tourist attractiveness. The main problems associated with the insufficient number of events held in the city, the repeatability of tourist routes, which can reduce the attractiveness of the territory for tourists, as well as the lack of a brand, are highlighted. Based on the analysis, it is determined that one of the promising directions of increasing the competitiveness of the region can be a synthesis of event and cultural tourism, providing the creation of a new tourist product and being a means of communication with a wide audience.
