The article considers the basics of socialization of a person in the system of building communicative and legal culture in modern social and cultural conditions. There is given a definition of the term “socialization”. The process of a person’s entry into society within the framework of the studied issues involves assimilation of social norms as well as communicative and legal values of society through effective interaction in the legal sphere. In addition, the article provides analysis of various theories of socialization proposed by such authors as E. Durkheim, T. Parsons and R. Merton, N. Smelzer, A.G. Efendiev, Yu.G. Volkov, V.N. Nechipurenko, A.V. Popov and S.I. Samygin, P. Berger and T. Lukman. It is revealed that they all provide a common interpretation of socialization as a process of an individual’s entry into society in the course of which generally significant norms and values are assimilated. It is concluded that without successful socialization it is impossible to achieve efficiency in building communicative and legal culture of an individual.
