The review deals with the anthology The Orthodox Church and Socialism. The second half of the 19th - 20th centuries published in St. Petersburg in 2023. The review examines the approaches of the authors-compilers to the study and comprehension of the texts expressing the attitude of Orthodox Church authors (hierarchs, clerics and laity) to the ideology and practice of socialism in Russia in the second half of the 19th - 20th centuries. The compilers’ methodological approach to the text selection can be recognized as correct.
