Social activities of religious organizations in the resort city of Sochi: a philosophical analysis

The research discusses the traditional and non-traditional religious organizations as the actors of social activity in the philosophical and legal aspect. Migration processes related to international, all-Russian events, including 2014 Winter Olympics, 2018 FIFA World Cup in Sochi, contributed to the growth of religious organizations and groups in the region. Most of them are not registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation as the religious organizations and describe themselves as charities implementing various social programs, personal development training. The main problem is the pseudo-charitable activity of such organizations which, in fact, is religious extremist and fanaticist propaganda. The author describes the main activities of religious organizations in the field of education, youth policy, charity, and media relations. Community service of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sochi is covered.
