Social infrastructure and its impact on the social and economic situation of the region

The development of a particular region has a significant impact on the overall development of the state. At the same time, much attention is paid to the issues of not only economic but also social development both of the country as a whole and individual regions. The level of the development of the region depends on a large number of factors, both external (objective, independent of local leadership) and internal (subjective, associated with the organization of regional management) order. It is advisable to evaluate these factors by calculating various indices, which allow us to derive an integral indicator that generally characterizes the level of the development of a particular region. Most of the development ratings, both international and Russian, cover not only economic indicators, but also social ones. The level of the development of social infrastructure is not less important than the economic characteristics. It includes facilities and institutions of social and cultural, educational, sports and health and a number of other areas. Social stability in society largely depends on it, and this in turn acts as a driving force for economic development. Social and economic development of the region is the Central function of the regional authorities, which largely determines the effectiveness of the management apparatus. The article deals with the social and economic development of the Orel region, analyzes its position among all regions of Russia. The attention is paid to the provision of the population of the region with educational and medical institutions and services. The level of human development is analyzed, the comparative characteristics of the specified indicators for the Orel region and the average Russian level is carried out.
